Cocaine

The difference between cocaine and amfetamine

Cocaine has a larger molecule than amphetamine so it can’t enter the cell and release more dopamine. Amphetamine makes the transporter reverse its pumping mechanism so it pumps amphetamine in and dopamine out. This is one of the reasons why amphetamine works longer than cocaine.
