Alcohol consequences: appetite and reaction

Initially, your appetite increases when you drink alcohol. Alcohol indirectly stimulates the hypothalamus, the brain area containing the hunger centre.

Alcohol also slows down your reaction speed. Probably your whole brain works more slowly, but your pupils also respond less quickly to stimuli from the brain, and your motor control is impaired.
